Dr. Constandt has been involved with the Michigan State University sports information and event management departments since 1976 working hockey, football and basketball games as well as track meets. In addition, he has been a volunteer press official for the United States Olympic Committee since 1982. In that capacity he has worked three National Sports Festivals and eight U.S. Olympic Festivals. He was invited to work the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea, the 1994 Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah, the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing, China and the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada. In 1996, he was a press officer for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. He received three degrees from Western Michigan University. First in 1972 he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration, Master’s of Public Administration in 1979 and a Doctor of Public Administration in 1987. Dr. Constandt enjoys research and is a member of The International Society of Olympic Historians. His first publication, “The 1936 Olympic Oaks: Where are they now?” which details the current status of the oak tree seedlings awarded to the Olympic gold medalists at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, Germany. He has also written, “The Michigan State Hockey Encyclopedia,” “The Complete Book of the United States Summer Olympics 1896-2008” and The Complete Book of the United States Winter Olympics 1924-2010.”  He resides in Eagle, Michigan.
